Is your material able to be clinched?

Although Tog-L-Loc has been successfully and effectively used for sheet metals that fall outside of this range, a typical Tog-L-Loc mild steel application has a combined material thickness of up to 7.87mm [.310"] and falls between 50-60 on the Rockwell "B" scale.

In addition to mild steel, Tog-L-Loc has also been used to clinch Aluminum, Copper, Galvanized steel, pre-painted steel, and dissimilar metal combinations of various thicknesses and hardness.

Is there enough room to make a joint?

BTM manufactures a range of Tog-L-Loc dies that are designed to accommodate various joining situations. The minimum distance requirements for each type of Tog-L-Loc die is listed below.

Notes: As "E" (bend radius) increases from 0.8 [.03"], add amount of increase to "B" dimension. All noted dimensions are minimum values unless otherwise specified. If "C" Dimension increases, "D" dimension may also be affected.

For optimum strength values, samples of specific alloys and coatings to be used in production may be submitted to BTM for testing.
